Christmas Tour of the Brecon Beacons!

We took the Abhijit family from Calcutta, India on an interesting tour between Christmas and New Year.

As a we have a flexible pick up service and the family were staying in Cardiff, we agreed to pick them up from Neath railway station, and it was the perfect starting point for the tour.

We had a discussion before we left about what they wanted to see and then we were on our way!

The Abhihit Family at Hendryd Falls

Waterfalls were top of the list and Hendryd Falls, used as part of the filming for the Epic batman film, the Dark Knight Rises was where we aimed for first!

From there we headed to Penderyn,  Ystradfellte, which is waterfall country its self and past the historic standing stone of Maen Llia up to the Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre to stop for lunch, where your guaranteed a warm drink and a full stomach.

From here it is a short, but scenic drive to Hay, and more specifically Hay Bluff, then across to Llantony. The family were amazed at the age of the place and were touching the walls and taking in the history!

We still had time to take in Cwmyoy and were fascinated to hear it had been built on the bottom of a landslide and that was the main reason its known locally as a "wonky church".

We finished by one more stop at the spooky Partrishow church near Crickhowell, and then to Cardiff to drop the family off at there accommodation!

An all round great trip!
